Hallo Bouke,

De Chakra is verkrijgbaar in STD en HDD, is daarin ook een kleurverschil?

Groeten Simon

Antwoord: Ja, de HDD is metallic silver.

Hola Bouke. After having sailed my two new boards on varios conditions on the canaries as well as in cold northern europe I have to state they are incredible. Especially the wave riding in small european conditions is improved with the trifin. The only thing to complain even for a barefoot pozo sailor is the grip. Nevertheless I am enjoying a great time with the two boards. Diego

Hello Bouke, we finally had some good conditions here in Holland lately. So it was very busy in Ouddorp last weekend with medium waves (2m) and strong winds. The session was really enjoyable on my 84l wave (series 1). The board works very well in jumps and on the wave, and after some practice i've adapted my gybing technique (from backfooted to frontfoot) so that's ok now. Although still happy with the SDT version, maybe next time I'll opt for the HDD. Best regards and good sailing, Joris

Joost from Netherlands (Grunn)

I sailed my WC production HDD 89 now for like 7 times approx. Unfortunately, I did not sailed good waves this year (fooooooooooock), but I'm very inspired beacause of the - control (also in chop); - acceleration; - top speed; - upwind sailing; - early planing; - planing in a windgap. My weight is +- 100 kg. The 89 board is ideal for moderate till high wind for me. The board really likes overpowered sailing :) The (for my new) wider stance sails realy great. I get used to the new stance realy fast, like 2 times sailing. now, it feels normal. Definitely I'll post a new message when I have some wave experience with the board. I really think this is my best board ever, for now and for in the future. The strength of the HDD dyneema does not need an explanation; it's just really strong so you (nearly) don't have to worry about a broken or damaged board!. Kind regards, Joost

Hallo Bouke,

Bouke,

You were right. I have now sailed the board 6-7 times. It pleases me
really again better than the others. It is super compact on foot, easy to control and very aggressive. I already had some super tight bottom turns with hard cutbacks. Even when jumping the Board behaves very neutral, really super. What it exactly is you know
better than I do, I think the Pintail is a good idea, the Rocker and the
Bottomshape, the length and the shape of the rails.

That you should have patented :-)

The board turns as one of Hawaii and planes and goes up wind like a Waveslalom Board.
I can hardly wait for waves ala Glass Beach to ride in where it is actually made for, which you can feel the drive, it gives me
the feeling that it always wants to turn tighter and will continue at full speed. Where
others lose speed, I can fully go on the Rails. I'm thrilled.

Not many can build something like that. Congretulations.

Sönke

Hallo,

waven -- idem
hoogte lopen/planeren idem

Since march 2008 I have an 80L Wave series as replacement for various boards, SOS, Ocean Circus. I bought the 80 to have a reference point before ordering a custom, as discussed in dec. 2007.

The board did need some getting used to but it was worth it and it fully meets my expectations.

Controll: incredible, also overpowered in 3.5m wind with a 4.0m sail.
Waveriding: The same
Planing/up wind: The same.

I usually use a 4.7 or 4.0 (not tried the 5.3 yet.)

I would not know what to change or improve (maybe heel cushions but even that is better as expected)
For the time being I won´t be ordering a custom. This board can handle so much more than the rider.

Thanks for the fantastic session you give us through your boards.

Regards,
Guy.

Hi Vasilis,

Thank you for the good report. As you have noticed now, the difference is you can put the sail down in the bottom turn but you don´t have to. By being able to stay more upright, you can react much quicker, which is a big advantage if the wave is less predictable. You can adapt a more surfing style because the board reacts to more subtle steering impulses. Those locked in lay down bottom turns look good but I see a bottom turn more as the foreplay, setting up for the "orgasm": the top turn, aerial, goiter, wave 360, what ever. So the more flexibility you have the more creative you can be or the easier you can correct a timing mistake. And the better you can set yourself up, the better the orgasm....

Hi bouke

I recently bought a 74 lt board .The shape is much different than any other wave board i had ( > 25 ) . I heard some people who had witchcraft complaining about more stand up down the line riding and that you can not put the sail down with that board so i decided to take twins big board and my favourite small goyas to cape town this winter The twins especially in big boards is very good .Recently i tried my witchcraft and i couldnt believe that a board could blow my mind out .Turn like crazy holds speed accelerates through turn excellent drive cut back and sail down I dont know if i can compare it with my other boards yet (favourites goyas rrd mpe millenium twins ) but it turns faster more speed in turn and sure it s one of the best .I tested it in up to 2 m and look forward to test it more to have a complete opinion. saludos vasilis

Hi Thomas,

Thanks, glad you like the board.

We find it still fairly easy to make the tail to spin out. It is a matter of how to keep the board as it´s more the rail than the fins giving the grip. If you keep the board flat in the top turn, it´s easy to make the tail spin out, see here: http://www.witchcraft.nu/actionpicbig.php?id=288.
Or if you put the board on it´s rail, it´ll give loads of grip like here:
http://www.witchcraft.nu/actionpicbig.php?id=289.
And with a bit of practice you can combine both style´s like here:
http://www.witchcraft.nu/actionpicbig.php?id=340

Let me know how you get along.

Cheers,

Bouke

hi bouke been using the 80lt alot in the uk in all manner of conditions, have to say the best is when its cross off and nice waves, it certainly enables you to stay far more on the wave and is so fast. the areas i needed your help on are i quess the fins, i am finding it quite hard to do moves like taka s or simply to spin the tail out on the white water, i know the tri fins are designed to give it more grip, which they do, but is there a way to reach a happy compramise between the grip and still being able to do these kind of moves a little easier. overall the board is killer, just makes you want to sail!!! regards thomas
